67 year old female, 5 feet 5 inches, 135 lbs, nonsmoker, who wished to have a facelift to rejuvenate her facial appearance. Her concerns were the loss of midface volume, jowling, central cheek rhytids and banding of platysmal muscle in her neck as well as lax skin of her neck. Her facelift consisted of a lateral SMAS plication as well as central platysmal suturing in 2 layers to improve the blunted nature of her neck angle. The SMAS was sutured in a vertical fashion to help add midfacial volume and width. Her post facelift photos were taken 7 months after her surgery. Her facelift has achieved what she wished for: there is increased midfacial width and volume. Her jawline is sharp and straight, conveying a strong vital appearance and athletic look. Her neck skin is smooth, without muscle banding and a sharp neck angle giving a youthful neck appearance. She is very happy with her new rejuvenated look.
